My wife and I arrived in Australia 12 years ago after a lifetime in Africa – strangers in a welcoming land. I have been a client of Robertson Scannell for approximately 30 years. With planning for retirement I had a number of options, having worked in the banking sector for some 40 years but I was looking for stability of personnel (accountant and financial adviser), quality advice and back office support. Whilst the performance over the past four years has been excellent, it has been the structure which has underpinned the performance, with investments across Australian and International shares, a hedge fund and listed property. Whilst you always need to take a long term view to performance, the current structure (whilst subject to market forces) does give the ability to review with regular discussions on a quarterly basis or as deemed necessary.
